Quit the game.

To find love, we must first forfeit power.

I don’t generally write openly about dating, as I prefer these days to keep my love life private. But, I wanted to share a realization I’ve had as of late because I find it applicable to life outside of strictly a romantic context.

People tend to approach dating in one of two ways:

1. They pursue

2. They get pursued

This creates something of a game where your role varies drastically depending on whatever situation you find yourself in.

You can be the cat with one person, while you’re the mouse with another.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Advice I often give to my single friends—and this applies to both men and women—is to quit the game entirely.
